Corporate Citizenship Report

“The only true test of values, either of men or of things, is that of their ability to make the world a better place in which to live.” Henry Ford

This year marks Versacom’s 40th anniversary.  Although we have evolved through the years, one thing remains constant, the belief that philanthropy and social responsibility are critical in defining our success.  We feel it is important to give back to the community in which we live and work.

The most recent example of Versacom’s cooperate citizenship is their implementation of Friday Jean’s Day.  For a $1 donation each week, employees can wear jeans on Friday.  Recently, we donated $100 to Salvation Army’s Bed and Bread program.  In the past, we have allocated the collected monies to donate to The Detroit Institute for Children, Forgotten Harvest, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, and Lee’s Denim Day for breast cancer awareness.

Versacom annually attends Charity Preview for the North American International Auto Show, an evening which raises millions of dollars for local charities.  We donate our time to design programs for events which support Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, The Henry Ford Estate fundraiser for Fair Lane, and Festival of Trees, a fundraiser for Children’s Hospital. We also support these events in other ways, such as event sponsorship, and sitting on various event committees.

We donated our time to coordinate the 2009 and 2010 Duck Regatta, a fundraiser for Great Lakes Guardians held at Cranbrook. We also contribute to the AGBU Alex and Marie Manoogian School Special Projects, Habitat for Humanity, Toys for Tots, JDRF Walk for a Cure, Clarkston SCAMP a special camp for special kids, and The Parade Company, through our attendance at Hob Nobble Gobble.   We believe that it is important to give back to our community, and will continue to pay it forward this year.
